About The Global Open University (THE-GLOBAL-OPEN-UNIVERSITY)

The Global Open University is a state university founded by Govt. of Nagaland in the year 2006 under the Act 2006 (Act 3 of 2006). The courses of the university are approved by UGC (University Grants Commission), Distance Education Council (DEC), AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and COL (Commonwealth of Learning). There are different master degree programmes, bachelor degree programmes and diploma courses at this University. It also provides short-term online certificate courses apart from its distance education degree courses. These certificate courses are totally online which includes online registration, online study material and also have online examination system. TGOU is a joint public-private partnership Enterprise between the Govt. of Nagaland and the WIBP (World Institution Building Programme). The University has all necessary facilities i.e. Library, Computer Lab, Classrooms with 200 Academic staff. TGOU was recognized by the Distance Education Council in 2008 and was accorded provisional recognition for offering distance programmes the same year. It is situated opposite the Railway Station, Dimapur in Nagaland.
